Compliance as monitoring, not as an audit

AI Act Guardian : 622 tools classified and a regulation under watch

The EU AI Act is not handled once and for all : the text evolves, and so does a company's AI tool estate. Guardian measures maturity across five dimensions, classifies 622 tools and monitors regulatory sources continuously. Delivered in 6 weeks.

The client

ProofPilot · AI Act Guardian

ProofPilot, on its own product. A monitoring tool for organisations that must demonstrate EU AI Act compliance without dedicating a team to it.

The situation

How did it work before?

AI Act compliance was handled through one-off audits : a report at a point in time, out of date as soon as a tool is added to the estate or a line of the regulation moves.

The trigger

Treating compliance as a state to monitor rather than as a deliverable to produce.

What we did

Step by step.

  1. Weeks 1 and 2

    The maturity matrix

Five dimensions scored across five levels, in the spirit of CMMI. Decision : levels described by observable behaviours, so that two people score the same way.

  2. Week 3

    Classifying the estate

622 AI tools classified against the risk categories of the regulation, so that the question « what do we do with this tool » already has an answer.

  3. Weeks 4 and 5

    Regulatory monitoring

Watching official sources with automatic detection of material changes and a monthly changelog : noise is filtered, only what actually changes something surfaces.

  4. Week 6

    Reporting and languages

Compliance PDF export and interface available in FR, NL and EN.

I started AI Act Guardian because an obligation was coming and nobody knew where to begin. Twenty years in HR taught me one thing: a rule is useless if it isn't workable. With the Legal expertise of Group S around me, we turned the text into a simple journey, and we put it on the market for free.
